Save the Planet. Stop the Yellow Pages!

Here at Itomic we are all about trying to save the planet (and build quality websites of course!). So where we can we do our bit with recycling, power usage reduction and avoiding the odd shower or two. Our sales manager has even gone so far as to replace pen and paper with an Ipad. But what to do with our printed versions of the Yellow and White Pages?. Like in most offices these days, they tend to find a use raising the height of our computer monitors.

In 2008 a Sensis employee indicated that there were about 10 million phone books in circulation nationally, and we recycle 72% of them on average. This is a good thing. Apparently an additional 20% of these are used for garden mulch and student furniture.

This still leaves 800,000 copies of these publications floating around the community (surely not all propping up monitors?!).

Previously you could ring 1800 810 211 to cancel this service, but who has time these days to sit on the phone and go through the "who, what, where, why" procedure?
