Boat Speed is a GPS speedometer developed by Itomic Digital Pty Ltd. No account is required.
Location data
The app uses precise location while it is in use to calculate and display speed, heading, altitude, and GPS accuracy. Coordinates and location history are processed in memory on the device, are not stored by Boat Speed, and are not sent to our servers or analytics services.
Information stored on your device
Display preferences and feature settings are stored locally. Paid entitlement is restored from Google Play or the Apple App Store for the current app session. Itomic does not receive payment-card details.
Crash diagnostics and configuration
The app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports and Firebase Remote Config for operational configuration. Crash reports can include app version, device model, operating-system version, stack traces, and technical fault state. We do not intentionally attach precise location, feedback text, or screenshots to crash reports. Optional usage analytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring are disabled in the app.
Advertising and consent
The free version uses Google AdMob. Where required, Google’s consent form is shown before an advertisement is requested, and a Privacy choices item is available in Settings when required. Google may process device identifiers, IP address, advertising interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred from an IP address in accordance with its services and your choices. Premium users can disable ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The store provides product and entitlement information required to unlock premium features. Payment-card details are handled by the store.
Feedback
Production feedback opens your chosen email application and is sent only when you choose to send it. Development-test builds may use Firebase App Distribution’s tester feedback feature. Boat Speed does not upload feedback screenshots or text to Firebase Storage.
Retention, children, and contact
Local preferences can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling. Other data is retained under the applicable provider and Itomic operational policies. Boat Speed is not directed to children.
